Where were you in 1960? Well if you were Kirk Douglas, Kim Novak, Walter Mathew and Ernie Kovacs you were in Brentwood Village Market filming scenes for the film "Strangers When We Meet. You'll see in the background of the film stores long gone from Brentwood Village. But one store remains, and that is the historic Brentwood Village Market. It's worth renting the film, to not only enjoy the fine performances from Kirk Douglas and Kim Novak, as well as other scenes throughout 1960's Brentwood. You'll spot other locations in West Los Angeles, including scenes at the legendary Romanoff's restaurant. And for those whose memories predate the Beverly Center, Kirk Douglas and Kim Novak and their children have an encounter at the pony ride lot that long occupied the property on Beverly and La Cienega. We are proud to own one of Brentwood's longest established businesses. We are pleased that our market was featured in this classic feature. Many stars and celebrities shop at our market, but so far as we are concerned the biggest stars are our regular, loyal customers, and that means you! |
